Support Made Simple is a blog about how to support children with special needs at school. The blog will mainly focus on my experience of supporting a learner with special needs as well as the resources and strategies that are out there to help life just that little bit easier.
I have spent the past seven years working with some great kids with a wide variety of difficulties...dyslexia, dyspraxia and DCD; ADHD and ADD; ASD and Aspergers; auditory, visual and sensory processing difficulties; language and communication difficulties...the list goes on. Labels are a useful starting point but at the end of the day does any child fit neatly into a category? Most of the terms above are 'umbrella' terms, they encompass a whole host of individual issues that a child may struggle with.
I doubt that I will cover things in a very organised or coherent way. This blog is just a way for me to share my experience and the experience of those I work with as well as any resources I may create or come across.
